“Hurricane Harvey made landfall on August 25th as the first Category 4 hurricane to hit the United States since Hurricane Charley in 2004. Many communities were ordered to evacuate, as fears arose that the hurricane could leave some coastal areas uninhabitable. The storm, which intensified over the Gulf of Mexico before hitting Texas and its surrounding states, brought with it heavy rainfall, damaging winds, and a powerful storm surge. It has significantly impacted communities along the Texas coastline, including Houston, as well as other areas along the Gulf with wind and flood damage.”
Devasting stories have been circulating everywhere about the victims of Hurricane Harvey and it leaves us asking, what can we do here in Stark County, Ohio?
As a board member of the Stark County chapter of The American Red Cross, Jen Mucci and The Mucci Team have witnessed the amazing work The Red Cross can do when the community supports its efforts. They have already been working tirelessly to help these victims, and we want to make sure they can continue to do what they do best. If you are looking for a reputable charity to donate to for the hurricane victims in Texas, we urge you to consider making your donation to The Red Cross.
